The Opportunity
The company is currently seeking a experienced and proactive Senior Group Legal Counsel to strengthen its legal department. This individual will provide strategic legal support primarily in construction law, public-private partnerships (DBFM) and corporate governance. The role also offers exposure to other legal domains including GDPR, insurance, IT, public procurement, and employment law.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on corporate legal matters and corporate governance.
- Provide legal support on construction law and public-private partnership issues, including assistance in contract negotiations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of contracts and legal documents across multiple legal areas.
- Help shape and grow the internal legal community by streamlining processes and encouraging knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of legal risk management strategies.
- Take part in internal and external working groups and professional networks.
Your Profile
- Master’s degree in Law.
- At least 8 years of relevant legal experience, ideally a combination of private practice and in-house roles.
- Expertise in real estate/construction law and at least, a very good understanding in public-private partnerships.
- Interest in broadening legal scope to areas such as GDPR, public procurement, labour law, and insurance.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage complex legal discussions.
- Business-oriented mindset with sound legal judgment.
- Effective communicator in French, Dutch, and English.
- Autonomous, yet collaborative in approach.
