Functieomschrijving
About the Role:
- Oversee the preparation and filing of corporate and partnership tax returns and forms, including T5013, T2, T1134, and T106, ensuring compliance with tax laws. Coordinate with external professionals to address tax issues during the compliance process.
- Act as a liaison with the Canada Revenue Agency and relevant provincial ministries regarding tax audits, reviews, and inquiries.
- Identify technical income tax issues, conduct tax research, and prepare detailed memos and reports.
- Assist in tax planning by proposing and implementing solutions throughout business operations.
- Coordinate with external professionals to provide advice on indirect tax matters.
- Supervise and provide guidance on other government remittances and filings, such as GST/HST and EHT.
- Generate and oversee the maintenance of tax project reports. Assist in updating and improving tax standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Provide support to other departments as needed.
About You:
- Over 3 years of experience in tax at a public accounting firm.
- Strong agility and problem-solving skills.
- Professional and clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Preferred Skills:
- Completion of an In-depth Tax Course or a Master of Taxation is preferred.
- Experience in tax structuring and reorganization is preferred.
- Cross-border tax experience is preferred.
- Additional business tax experience is an asset.
- Mandarin-speaking is an asset, but not mandatory.
