Holiday Season: Gift For Your Colleagues

When it comes to the workplace, we often use words like “appreciation” and “recognition”. As a manager, you give feedback based on the results an employee achieves. As a coworker or colleague, you appreciate or acknowledge the abilities of others around you.

While praising positive outcomes is a healthy workplace practice, you should not miss out on the opportunity to build healthy relationships with your coworkers. You have to connect and support your team members as a token of appreciation. This is where gifts can make life easier.

While there’s no obligation to give a gift to your colleagues, the holiday gift-giving routine can develop a more connected work environment in the office. When we say gifts, it could be anything from a pen to a moment when you put down your phone to truly listen to your colleague.

For example, you can stop by one of your team members and express what you value about them. You don’t extend this courtesy because they did something great for you or expect something from them. But you want to positively impact how your colleagues feel about themselves. Besides, this practice leads to great company culture.

So, if you want to give holiday gifts to your colleague, you might feel stuck, struggling to find the right gift. If the holiday season has arrived and you need to make some quick decisions, this article will help find the right gift for your coworkers. Whether it’s your colleague, employee, or client, this holiday gift guide will make things easier for you.

Creative gifts for colleagues to tighten the bond

In today’s digital world, people like to have gifts that are more than a token of appreciation. They prefer to have something essential that could make their life easier. As an employer, you might find it right to come up with a gift list and let your employees choose the right gift for themselves.

However, when it comes to close colleagues, you have to choose something for them. Take a quick look at the following holiday gift ideas to find the one that seems perfect for your employee or coworker:

A course

Let’s say you have a colleague that needs a knowledge boost. Or, maybe you want them to learn a new skill. Most of us have at least one coworker that loves to learn and share new things. It would be a great idea to gift them a course.

Not sure how? Udemy, for example, makes it easy to send courses as gifts to colleagues and employees. You can go ahead and purchase a course as a gift to whoever you want right there on Udemy’s website. All you need to do is provide some basic information about the gift receiver. You can also explore other platforms where you can purchase a course or training program for your colleague.

Headphones

If you look around, you probably find out that most of your coworkers and employees love music. There are so many people that open up some music app first thing in the morning. So, a good pair of headphones could be a great holiday gift for your colleague. If you browse through a few headphone brands, you would be able to find a product within your budget.

Tickets to events

The holiday season means plenty of time to hang around and go to events or watch movies. If your colleague is an art enthusiast, you should consider gifting a ticket to an event or theater. Even if you’re an employer and want to gift something nice to your employees, you can gift tickets to concerts or any other event that your employees will find interesting.

A notebook

This one might seem old-fashioned, but a notebook is an evergreen gift. We understand the notebooks and diaries have been replaced with smartphones. But people still love to have a notebook or a diary where they write their thoughts down. As an employer, you can give a notebook branded with your company’s logo. If you want to go a step further, emboss your employees’ names on them.

Ebook reader

If you think a notebook or a book isn’t the right holiday gift, consider gifting an ebook reader or a tablet, especially if your colleague is into reading and likes to have books on their desk. An ebook reader is a pretty awesome gift that can be given to anyone: students, friends, coworkers, parents, etc.

People have started losing interest in book reading because they have so many other things to spend time on. So, gifting someone an ebook reader would be a good little effort to encourage someone to read books.

A hobby-centric gift

You probably know about the hobbies of your colleagues. Don’t you? Even if you don’t know about it, you can ask them. So, for example, if your colleague likes to paint, you can gift them a brush or a canvas. It would be an amazing idea to gift something that resonates with their hobbies or passions.

Cash

What about allowing your colleagues the freedom to buy whatever they want? An envelope with a note and some cash would be a perfect holiday gift for employees and team members. Employers should consider giving a bonus as a holiday gift.

A travel gear

This one is for travel enthusiasts, people who love to go places in the holiday season. You probably know a group of people at work who never miss a chance to visit a new place. For those colleagues, you can buy something that could make their traveling easy; for example, travel pillows, charging kits, or customized luggage tags.

Final thoughts

Holidays gift ideas are endless. We hope the options we have mentioned will help you gift something memorable to your coworkers and employees. Be creative when choosing a gift for someone. Whether you want to increase the productivity of your team or just want to say thank you, gifts can help you express yourself.
